sedumzz's blog: It's warm. | 2/23/2023

It's really warm today. Warmer than inside our home.
I have good news and bad news, I think I'll start with the bad news.

I was walking around the garden beds today, admiring the now luscious new growth on the Sedum, when I wondered "Where are those newly sprouted tulips I planted?" Well. Guess what... they were dug up, all toasted below the garden bed Sad . I watered them and planted them back. Whatever came today and decided to take bites out of the bulbs also decided to uproot some of my FAVORITE plants. Dianthus and Scabiosa plantings were strewn out on the lawn. Dianthus did not make it, too crispy now. My favorite Armeria was almost fully uprooted, but it looks like the boulder I staged it in front of kept it in-ground. Some of the smaller semps got pulled out and messed up. Sighing! I will be setting up a new fence.
Now... good news!
On the bright side, the undamaged semps and sedums are doing GREAT! Sedum acre has caught my eye, it is nestled in the red-semp mountain, so it stands out. I'm redoing the area soon anyways, so I'll get the chance to fix the semp planting area soon. I found a good source for "fancy" small topdressing -- neutral gray, so it'll be better than the blinding cream pea pebbles I had earlier.

Daylilies are doing great, I'll probably divide Stella de Oro tomorrow. If you are not following the daylily forum, I kinda want more daylilies now Whistling . I checked in on my current ones, they are making new leaves. Last year, Low Carbon Footprint made a scape, but it got lopped off my wildlife. Hopefully this year I'll get blooms!! Crossing Fingers!

My non-damaged semps are looking super good, and my semps from Bev and Alchemist are also doing great.

That's pretty much it right now.
Bye!
