Working Weekend
Posted on Aug 11, 2013 1:30 PM

Had plants given to me and it took a hard, hot, working weekend for me. Oh, I'm not finished..  Plants recieved: Monkey Grass, Mexican petunia, elephant ears varigated, gaint elephant ears, spider lily plant, Yellow Iris and seeds from Touch me Nots.

I planted the monkey grass by spacing them around so that I would use them to help with heavy rains and the dirt would not flow away. In the past I had tried to plant grass seeds and also grass pads that where suppose to take the shady areas. I know by experience that the monkey grass will work.

The Mexican petunias, I put in a pot. I want to have control of the plant, not the plant to boss me.

Elephant ears I put in the ground. I have watered them but today they look droopy. Did some reading and found that this time of year, being real hot, would stress the plant out. Also I should have put mulch around to hold the moisture.

My Spider Lily plant and Yelow Iris plants look okay...   Done nothing to my Touch me not seeds.

Been around looking at my yard and saw some limping plants and went ahead and took off some of the plant to relieve the plant.

I need to mow my grass...

Will gardening ever leave me alone?

Starting Day-lilies and lilies beds.
Posted on Jul 17, 2013 7:16 PM

Don't have any blooms yet. Just started with day-lilies and lilies. I have listed the plants I have got.

Have grown Roses for a while but some of the Roses are having problems and when they die I'm gonna try something else.

I live in Gulf Coast Mississippi. Been having lots of rain for two weeks.

I don't like to use pesticides very much. They are bad for me and the world.
