I'd never ordered plants in the mail before I have had good results trading some succulent cuttings with others over the years, and a friend sent a coupon. As I was browsing, I saw so many plants that I wanted and have never seen in person so I ended up ordering 10 plants in 2" pots, 1 unpotted Sempervivum plug, an unrooted piece of cholla (Cylindropuntia), and a cute little pot. Everything looks great, and arrived on time, very well packaged.

I love tiny plants and I am pleasantly surprised that some of these have even smaller foliage than I'd imagined from the pics, and the plants with naturally larger foliage are bigger starts than I was hoping for. Prices are a little higher than a similarly sized plant @ a BBS, but you're probably not going to see these plants at one of those stores, and they are in MUCH better soil that doesn't make me fear that they will die the first time I water them, and the plants I received seem vigorously healthy.

I would absolutely order again, and recommend.

Love this pot.

One of the Semps I ordered came with a few extra youngsters.

I'm a native plant gardener and there is only one native sedum in Georgia, Sedum nevii. Mountain Crest Gardens had it and for a reasonable price. I was a little skeptical about the plants being in 2-inch pots, but they arrived in great shape, very full and definitely ready for up-potting. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

I recently placed my first sempervivum order with Mountain Crest Gardens. This company has a really super variety of choices and it took me quite a while to make my final decisions. The semps arrived a few days ago: labeled and accompanied by detailed instructions on what to do upon receipt. Excellent packaging and plants were in wonderful condition. Heartily recommend this vendor and will certainly order from them again.

I won a gift certificate from MCG through the NARR and it was one of the best wins ever. They have very helpful employees. We are building a gnome village and I was able to get lots of awesome accessories for it, plus Emily was right on with her suggestions about the sedums that would be good to grow with it.

Highly recommend. I'll be back when I need more succulents.

If you're interested in succulents, this is a great source to order from. This is one of my go-to sites when I have the need to get plant mail. The orders are always well packaged, and they send healthy plants that are true to name.

I got several semps and heuffs from MCG last year, small yet extremely healthy and vigorous, with a powerhouse root plug. After I planted them in my garden, under the adverse conditions I was besieged with last summer, I am pleased to report that all of the MCG plants thrived, whereas many of my other newly acquired succulents, bigger and seemingly more robust, suffered and languished and some even perished. Interestingly, I had picked up a few duplicate varieties because I was worried about the "little ones" not making it. Grateful they did because the big ones didn't! And, it serves to demonstrate the high quality of plants received from MCG :)

I just received my first order from Mountain Crest Gardens. I thought they had a pretty nice selection of succulents at reasonable prices. Mine arrived well packed and healthy. I will probably buy from them again.

Updated to say that all of the sedums I bought from them last year made it through their first (harsh) winter and are looking great! I ordered some more this spring.

I've ordered twice from Mountain Crest and both times the plants came in excellent condition. Their packing was better than another mail-order nursery I purchased from, which meant that the plants had almost no debris in the succulent leaves that had to be painstakingly teased out. Plants were healthy and larger than I expected.

I have ordered from Mountain Crest Gardens over the last several years. I have been happy with the plants I've received. Only once was a plant mislabeled. I contacted them and they sent me the correct plant.

Mountain Crest Gardens has a large selection of plants, mostly succulents - with nice photos, and the website is easy to navigate. The people were responsive and friendly, and I've placed several orders with them. Their plants are okay, not as good as other online nurseries, and their prices are a bit higher, but they often have the "harder-to-find" semps or sedums.
I look at their website periodically, but only purchase if I cannot locate the plant elsewhere.
Would refer to friends, but with an explanation!
