I bought a clematis from them in 2019. Normally, buying something online I figure I am trading off a smaller plant in exchange for getting an unusual variety. Not so here. This was the most vigorous clematis I've ever purchased. Way better than the scraggly things in the local garden center. Now, it wasn't cheap, but it was absolutely worth the money on quality alone, even for a common variety I might be able to find locally. This will be my first stop for clematis from now on.

I have ordered from SongSparrow for years. Their tree peonies in bloom travel well in their amazingly packed box. Their magnolias on their own roots are second to none. They are the perfect planting size to take off once you find the correct location and plant them. Peony roots are 5 eyes usually. Once they sent me the wrong root (this is over dozens of orders over the years) and they kindly replaced it after I sent an email explaining things, with no question.

Having been to their nursery on a local garden club buying tour, I can tell you their staff is kind, courteous, knowledgeable and more than helpful. Roy, Sarah, Jose, and Tannis are just a few who go out of their way to provide you with information, answer your questions, and even help you figure out how to take your full heavy box to check out. Their greenhouses are full of well cared for and unique plants.

SongSparrow is one of my favorite places on the planet to shop. I always know I will find something different here and they will give me a plan for success in growing it. I love how excited and knowledgeable they are about their plants. They come with my highest recommendation.

After many years of reading Klehm's Song Sparrow Nursery's beautiful catalog, I ordered several peonies in fall, 2014 ('Do Tell', 'Moon River', 'Mrs. F.D.R.', and 'Pink HawaiIan Coral') and three shrubs in spring, 2015 (Syringa vulgaris 'Nadezhda' and Little Boy Blue = 'Wonderblue' and Magnolia 'Lois'). None of these cultivars were available locally. This was the only source of the Brooklyn Botanical Garden's yellow Magnolia 'Lois' that I found. Everything arrived in excellent condition and has done well in my garden.I have been extremely pleased with everything I have ordered from Klehm's Song Sparrow Nursery and with reading and re-reading their outstanding annual print catalog; it is a work of art!

Klehm's has the best selection of peonies with unusual blooms; Klehm hybridized quite a few of the "cactus dahlia" bloom types. Very reliable grower with good roots.

I've always loved Klehm's Song Sparrow Nursery. I had great success with clematis from them that I planted at my first house.

I recently took advantage of a special they had: Buy two, get one free. I had forgotten how really, really nice their plants are.

They also have a great website that I find very easy to navigate and full of useful information.

Here is my latest purchase

I've been ordering from Song Sparrow for as long as I can remember. You'll receive top quality plants on time every time. Have never needed to contact them about an order except for a heartfelt thank you note. You can order without concern.

Excellent source for peonies, hostas, clematises, daylilies, small conifers, and many, many other perennials, many of which are their own introductions. Also unusual plants that aren't widely available. The plants are all very large and healthy, and their packaging is superior. Shipping isn't the cheapest, but when you see the excellent shape their plants arrive in, you'll agree it's well worth the cost. Their catalog is absolutely beautiful and a great source of information as well.

They are a mail-order company only.

Rhamnus frangula 'Ron Williams' that I purchased from them several years ago.
