The Green Pages: Van Engelen Inc. (E-Commerce Companies)

I've been buying narcissus, tulips, and hyacinths from VanEngelen for nearly two decades and I'm very pleased with the value. The bulbs are always in great condition - free from disease and essentially free of blemish. Furry creatures seek out and consume hyacinths and tulips.These require frequent replenishment, but most of the narcissus have naturalized in my garden.

Although Van Engelen wholesale bulb catalogue has no color photos, it generally arrives with the glorious full-color catalogue from Scheepers - a sister retail company - and there is a very good correspondence between the items in each.

I've been ordering my bulbs from Van Engelen for probably 20 years now. In my zone 4B garden, I treat tulips as annuals, and I don't skimp on the quantities I plant. After our long, cold, very white winters, I need big bursts of color in the spring. I've always been more than satisfied with the quality of Van Engelen bulbs, and their customer service is wonderful. I recommend them without reservation.

I've ordered bulbs from this company (wholesale quantities for/from John Scheeper's) and been quite satisfied. Response was swift and products were packaged well.
The Allium schubertii received therefrom were twice the size of those received from elsewhere.

Very good company. They sell only in wholesale quantities, but the lower limit is not high (I think the total order must be $50 or more). I've ordered from them for many years and have always had excellent service and results. They have a sister company, John Scheepers Beauty from Bulbs, that sells the same stock but in smaller quantities and at slightly higher prices. As of 2014, again, same excellent product and good service.
