Above-Ground Ponds Are Easy: No Digging Required

You can easily have a small decorative pond by using a preformed ready-made patio pond.

There are many sizes and shapes of preformed ponds meant to be sunk in the ground, but there is also a type made especially to be left above the ground. I bought mine in the pond section of a big local nursery. Called "Patio Ponds," they are 30 inches round by 14 inches deep, with three plant shelves built in. This way you can add both water plants and fish.

Set up is really easy. Place on patio or deck or directly on the ground. Make sure your pond is level and fill it with water. Instant pond!
