This time of year I get hungry for a little spring color. Primroses are the ideal plant to fill this need.

I have an antique wicker chair that sits on my porch. I pass it each time I leave my home or return. It is the ideal place to display some cheery color several times throughout the year. Currently I am seeing some gorgeous primroses at the stores and they are often easy on the wallet. Today I found some at one of the big box stores. I bought several and put them in two baskets on the chair for my porch. I'll keep any fading blossoms removed and I always pick plants with lots of buds coming. If we have cold nights or days, I will just bring them into the house until it warms. As the season progresses and when they are done blooming, I will plant them in a flower bed. If they make it to next year, that will be all the better. Didn't cost any more than a good hamburger and fries and much better for my not very trim waistline.
