Prevent seed pods from dropping their seeds to the ground by using organza bags.

To collect seeds from pods that may split or "explode," bag the pods or seed heads in organza bags with tie-strings. Old panty-hose or nylons work too. Just don't crush the stem when you tie them on.

Walmart and craft stores have the bags in the "Wedding Supplies" aisle, but you can also find good prices online by searching for "organza bags."

You can also put an organza bag over flower buds to protect them from insect pollination if you plan to hand-pollinate them once they open. Remember that pollinators will try to crawl inside.
