Finding Pots in Odd Places

Look past the plant departments for your plant containers. Find the best pots at the hardware store!

You can find some interesting treasures in the hardware section and paint departments of stores. There, you'll find inexpensive paint cans and other construction containers that will house plants nicely and add interest to your yard and plants. Before planting, be sure to drill some drainage holes if needed.

Here are beautiful stainless steel troughs from a hardware department. They are actually mud pans and they come in 3 sizes; this is the largest.

Using gutters, either hanging or installed against a wall, will give you a beautiful garden!

Standard cinderblocks run about $1.50. Plant in them and use them for your borders at the same time!
