One thing that flower gardeners have is a lot of flowers. The question is: Do you bring them inside?

Let's just cut to the chase, shall we? Cut flowers- Yea or nay?

Some gardeners like to bring the garden indoors - whether it be their garden, or someone else's bought from the store. Filling vases, containers, cups, and teapots with flowers. For some, the more flowers, the better. For others, a simple rose in a bud vase will do the trick. Either way, flowers don't just belong outside, they belong inside as well.

On the other side are those gardeners who prefer to keep the flowers outside. I'm certain the reasons are as varied as the types of gardeners, but the simple explanation is: no flowers in the house.

For the purpose of this article, houseplants don't count as "Team Inside"- this week we are only exploring cut flowers.

I love cut flowers in the house! I'm still mostly depending on annuals to do that job for me until our new gardens are established, but even with simple zinnias and sunflowers, there is something nice about bringing the outdoors in.

https://garden.org/i/t/dave.png It's a tradition for me to go scrounging around the woods and pastures every spring, looking for crowsbanes and wild roses to cut and bring in. Sprigs of redbuds just opening are a delight, and perfumy clusters of Vitex are wonderful for a lazy afternoon playing a game indoors. 100% Team Inside/Cut Flowers for me!

Your turn! Are you Team Cut Flowers, or Team No Cut Flowers?
