This month Sharon has stepped forward and volunteered to create another of her amazing paintings for us to enjoy, and for one lucky winner to have to decorate their home! I asked Sharon to fill us in on the details, and here is what she wrote:
Ethan's Sunflowers
Because of the heat and drought here in Western Kentucky last summer, the only blooms I had for many weeks were sunflowers from the seeds my young grandson planted for me in April. When I mentioned to Trish that I was thinking of doing another raffle painting but wasn't sure which blooms to choose, she said: "How about sunflowers!"
Here are Ethan's Sunflowers.
It is painted in acrylics on stretched canvas and can be hung on the wall or displayed on an easel. Stretched canvas is very lightweight. The painting is about 24" x 20"; the acrylics are permanent and can be easily cleaned by wiping with a damp cloth. It's textural which means you can see and feel the thick brush strokes; it should never be covered in glass. Acrylic paints don't fade so it really needs no protection covering it. You can display it as it is or you can add a simple wooden strip frame to its edges.
You can see the predominant colors, mostly shades of yellow and orange, but the background is dark navy blue with hints of violet. The image above that was taken in my blue garden is a bit washed out by today's bright sunlight, but you can better see the vivid colors in the closer view.
Beautiful! Thank you so much, Sharon.
Second and third place winners will receive an ATP Tee Shirt, subject to color and size availability. If your preferred color or size isn't available (our stock is dwindling) then you can choose an ATP Coffee Mug instead.
The ticket window opens now and will close at 5:00pm central time on Thursday, November 8th. The drawing will take place on Friday. Good luck everyone!
