A gardener, author, blogger and much more, Margaret Roach is highly popular with everyone who learns about her. Come listen to our audio interview and find out why!

Thumb of 2012-08-10/dave/1b6bfaA Way To Garden Dot Com, born March 2008, is the latest horticultural incarnation of Margaret Roach, with her own words and photographs (taken in her Hudson Valley, New York, garden) as its DNA.

The blog is named for a book she wrote early in her garden career, and in the life of her garden. "A Way to Garden" was named best garden book of 1998 by the Garden Writers Association of America, and is now a collector's item.

She has been writing about gardening for nearly 25 years; in her previous lives she was garden editor at Newsday (one of the country's largest dailies) and then for Martha Stewart, where she was the first garden editor of "Living" and later editorial director of the magazines, books and internet.

She "retired" (but didn't stop working) on the last day of 2007 to her 2.3-acre garden, bordering on the Berkshires of Massachusetts. She walked away from a career and "success" to explore personal creativity again - something executives don't get to do much between meetings. The book she wrote about dropping out, "And I Shall Have Some Peace There," was published in February 2011 and reviewed by us last May; her next book, a garden title, will be out in January, 2013.

I was pleased to be able to talk with her via telephone, and the recording of that interview is presented below for your enjoyment.
