Chris is a gardener and hobby farmer, and the author of many gardening books in the "Idiot's Guide" series. In this podcast, she joined me to talk all about gardening: heirloom vegetables, compost, worms, containers, small plants, and much more!

Thumb of 2012-08-19/dave/610156Chris McLaughlin is the author of The Complete Idiot's Guide to Composting, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Heirloom Vegetables, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Small-Space Gardening, and Hobby Farms: Small-Scale Rabbit Keeping.

Her latest book project, Vertical Vegetable Gardening, will be released in December. Chris has been gardening indoors and out for over 30 years and became a Master Gardener in 2000.

Her work can be found in Urban Farm Magazine, The Herb Companion, and The Heirloom Gardener magazines. Online, she's a staff contributor for VegetableGardener.com and several other web magazines. Between writing assignments and books, she spends time at her personal website ASuburbanFarmer.com.

Between breaths, she does her best to keep up with her ever-growing family and hobby farm in the Northern California Gold Country.

Chris' enthusiasm and passion for gardening is contagious and I enjoyed our conversation!
