It pays to belong to garden clubs offered by local or regional nurseries. I belong to two different ones.

One offers cash rewards based on points you get for purchasing items at their store.  For each dollar spent, you receive one point.  When you receive 250 points they give you a $5.00 gift card.  This is earned for any items you purchase, not just plants.  They also have weekly “Garden Club only" specials in their newspaper ads and Garden Club “unadvertised specials” in the store.

The other club uses a regional card received through a magazine subscription.  Just by subscribing to the magazine, you receive a discount card good for 10% off at participating nurseries and garden centers/stores.  In my area there are probably close to 100 participating businesses.  At some businesses the discount applies only to plants, and at others it applies to everything they sell.

It doesn't cost you anything additional to belong, so why not reap the extra benefits these clubs provide!
