For years I have wanted to cover a trellis with morning to midnight blooms. I would plant an assortment of Morning Glories for early-in-the-day blooms in shades of red, blue, and violet. As they close, The flowers of the Alamo Vine would open at noon, showing their pink centers within the white bloom. In the early evening, the saucer-like MoonVine flowers would slowly begin to unfurl in all of their fragrant glory, some white and maybe some of the pinks. I might even add some Cypress Vines for their feathery foliage and little bursts of color!

So what stops me? In past years I've had the trellis with colorful Morning Glories and luscious Moonvines, but I had not discovered the Alamo Vine with its elegant palmate leaves. When I grew the Alamo Vine (no large trellis available) and observed its blooming habit, the lightbulb went off! This would be a new garden project once I collected all the seeds at the same time and built an arbor or appropriate trellis. I still need a plan and/or a helper to build that arbor. A few extra dollars wouldn't hurt either. This idea has yet to come to fruition, but I still have hopes of seeing such a project to the finish. I would love to spend an entire day and evening watching Mother Nature's parade of blooms, while reading a good book, sipping and snacking throughout the day, and listening to the soft sounds of life. Does anyone else have one of those "plans for the future"? ( Does anyone have Alamo Vine seeds?) Here's to all those garden plans that keep on growing and keep us going.
