Extreme summer heat damaging your plants? Provide temporary shade for them. You can use many things to do this depending on the size of the area needing the shade.

A homemade decorative screen would work. You could use sheets of 4' x 8' plastic or wooden lattice work, or a frame of any size with shade cloth or an old sheet stretched over it. For a larger area like mine, I made an easy temporary shade house from PVC pipe and shade cloth for my raised semp beds that are in full sun.

This gave protection from 90° to 100° for the new young plants so they could put their energy into producing roots.
