It uses less than 2 feet of floor space in your greenhouse. It holds small to medium-sized pots (herbs, seedlings, etc.). Great for on the patio too. Stark is my go-to mail order source for fruit trees. I look for their tags at local nurseries, too. They recently merged with Miller Nurseries, my go-to source for berry bushes, asparagus, etc., so now starkbros.com is a 1-stop destination for me. :-) I've often chosen to pay the extra for "premium" trees, which are hand-selected and professionally pruned, although any Stark Bros trees I've ever bought or seen were of good quality. I'm not sure "premium" is worth the extra $, especially now that I've gotten better (more heartless) at pruning.
I have known Annie for years, and she is always a pleasure to talk to and a wealth of plant knowledge. I continue to enjoy her new plant introductions year after year. Great place to visit if you come to San Francisco. Sequoia in Oakland, California
The best $30 I've spent has been for PlantStep in 2011. It's easy and an organized way to keep track of my plants, especially daylilies. I'm able to quickly check where a plant is located, when and where it was purchased in addition to seeing the data about each plant. My favorite feature is selecting which cultivars I want labels for, printing them in seconds using Avery waterproof labels and attaching to garden markers. I keep a things to do list and a journal as well on PS. My days of scribbling notes on 20 different legal pads and typing data into a spreadsheet are behind me. I'm most impressed by the owner who spent a lot of time over the last 24 hours helping me to get the program running on a new laptop after screen went bad on old one.
Have ordered many times from Sooner Plant Farm. Plants arrive healthy and well packaged. Received a phone call last year when a plant was not going to be available. This was much appreciated.
I just received my first order from Victory Seed Co. I am very impressed with the attention they gave my one small order, even personally answering my comment that wasn't even a question. They also shared unasked for (but very appreciated) information on caring for seed, which I have not seen with other major seed companies. I have been gardening for 30 years and have been having increasing problems obtaining a certain type of seed, which I have now found at Victory Seed. This year I am going to be ordering all my gardening needs with Victory, and I have a feeling it will be a good year! I even signed up for their newsletter, which, if you knew me, is amazing. I never give out my email address!
Paul really is a guy that gives his all: friendly, helpful, thoughtful, great speaker, great businessman, and community activist. As if this weren't enough, how about those incredible daylilies! Plus, there is a price range to fit most budgets. Super pleased with what I have received.
