This is also known as 'Violet Pink'

[ Plumeria (Plumeria pudica 'La Florida') | Posted on July 23, 2015 ]

This hybrid of Plumeria pudica has a superior growth habit, larger leaves and larger flowers than its parent. Unfortunately, it still doesn't have a scent.

[ Uncarina (Uncarina stellulifera) | Posted on July 22, 2015 ]

The fruit of this plant, when dried, displays barbs that attach themselves to the fur of animals passing by, which aids in the dispersal of the seeds.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Mango Brush') | Posted on July 18, 2015 ]

This is a Thai variety that closely resembles 'Mango Blush'; it is thought the name is a misspelling of this variety.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria pudica 'New Srisupakorn') | Posted on July 14, 2015 ]

This plant is sometimes sold as 'Pink Pudica' or 'Thai Pink Pudica'. There are several crosses that claim the name 'Pink Pudica', but this one is superior to the others. It is a very compact grower, and is impervious to rust.

[ Satake Palm (Satakentia liukiuensis) | Posted on June 18, 2015 ]

This is a slow growing palm.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Jackie') | Posted on June 9, 2015 ]

This is one of 'Jungle Jack's' compact varieties.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Makaha Sunn') | Posted on May 23, 2015 ]

In addition to being vibrant and gorgeous, this plumeria also has a strong fragrance.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Hokulani') | Posted on May 21, 2015 ]

This Hawaiian variety is very close but - in my opinion - not identical to a Thai variety known as 'Linda'

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Jack 2') | Posted on May 19, 2015 ]

This is a 'Jungle Jack's' variety from Thailand.

This Hawaiian Plumeria variety has also been sold under the name 'Apricot Locks'

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Buddha Raksa') | Posted on April 19, 2015 ]

This is also known as 'Puttaraska'

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Jack's Compact Yellow') | Posted on April 17, 2015 ]

As the name implies, this is a very compact grower and therefore very suitable to grow in a large pot.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Super Round') | Posted on April 11, 2015 ]

This variety is also known as J 115 and Sangwan (or Sangwal) Tubtim

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Vera Cruz Rose') | Posted on March 25, 2015 ]

This is a profusely blooming Plumeria variety; in the Florida Keys it never stopped blooming all winter long.

[ Talipot Palm (Corypha umbraculifera) | Posted on March 22, 2015 ]

This palm, which flowers only after 30-60 years, has the largest inflorescence of any plant, up to 25 ft long. Being monocarpic, the tree dies after fruiting.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Pink Goblet') | Posted on March 21, 2015 ]

This profusely blooming variety was found by me growing in a yard in Old Naples. The kind lady allowed me to take a cutting so it is now in my collection too, ensuring its survival.

[ Fairchild's Folly (Phyllocarpus septentrionalis) | Posted on March 12, 2015 ]

This tree, originally from Central America, was brought to Florida by Wilson Popenoe in the 1920's. It needs a dry winter to flower and therefore doesn't always perform as well in Florida as it can in its original habitat. David Fairchild planted it widely, and it became known as "Fairchild's Folly" for its failure to perform as expected.

[ Mexican Flame Vine (Pseudogynoxys chenopodioides) | Posted on February 5, 2015 ]

Agree on it being invasive in zone 10, I have to cut mine back almost to the ground each year or it would have swallowed the house whole by now. But when in bloom it's a stunner.

[ Plumeria (Plumeria rubra 'Princess Victoria') | Posted on February 4, 2015 ]

Very often, Princess Victoria is shown with "color break," which is a virus-induced phenomenon. There is no proof that this variety displays this more often than others.
