Colors will vary greatly with heat, or lack thereof. In hot temps, the blooms are very deep red. In colder temps, they will be a variety of pastels. Beautiful either way.
Whereas this is without doubt a very special and beautiful plumeria cultivar, it has frustrated me for years because it has a tendency to drop its buds. Therefore I no longer grow it. It is too disappointing to see a beautiful inflorescence develop, and then never see the blooms.
This is an unusual variety; I believe it may be an interspecific cross. The blooms are white and somewhat curled in. Both bloom petals and leaves have the texture of leather.
Several people have named plumerias 'Tequila Sunrise'. It was established that this one, by Atom Cholpavee of Thailand, was the first one with the name.
This is a very common variety throughout Australia. It has been given various alternative names , there as well as in the US, but it is generally recognized as 'Fruit Salad'.
This seedling was germinated in January, 2014. The seed-pod parent is Volare. It formed three tips fairly quickly. Those three tips (branches) are now 3-4' tall. One branch has remained a single. One branch now has grown two additional tips and the other branch has grown four additional tips. The two multi-tipped branches have inflo. The inflo began forming in July, 2015 and were in bloom September, 2015. It is now January, 2016, and both inflo are still blooming. The fragrance is floral/rose with a hint of baby powder.
This plumeria has not been registered with the PSA.
This is a 19-month-old seedling and the seed-pod parent was 'Bill Moragne.' This seedling began to branch at 11 months, formed an inflo at 13 months, was in flower at 14 months, and grew seed-pods at 16 months. The fragrance is honeysuckle and rose, with a hint of pear. The name has not been registered with the PSA yet.
I found out that the PSA will not accept names that have another plant's name in that title, so I will have to change the name of 'Kathryn's Honeysuckle Rose' to 'Kathryn's Fuchsia Fantasy'.
I received 3 Y'd cuttings in late July, 2015 and stuck them August 1st. They rooted quickly in the warm weather and promptly set inflos. One plant has been blooming for about a month now and both of the other plants have inflos ready to open. They are a very cheerful color with a pleasant, not overpowering, fragrance.
