I winter sowed these and enjoyed an abundance of white floaty mid-spring to mid-summer blooms. I didn't deadhead because the blooms lasted long and still looked good as they aged. So I'm pretty sure I'll have little orlayas popping up everywhere this spring. The seeds are prickly.

I have had these for several years now and they self-sow every year. They can get invasive, but they are easily pulled up. The white lacecap blooms are lovely and are the first to bloom here. They have ferny green leaves, which look great against the white blooms. Wonderful addition to cottage gardens and bouquets.

dnrevel On April 12, 2024 Seeds sown
Sowed two jugs of seeds. I hope it will be cold enough (before the frost dates here in SE Michigan) to spur germination as this plant needs a short cold period and light to germinate.
