This is not only one of my favorite succulents---it's one of my favorite plants. Looks good year-round in my garden, even in frosty 20-degree winters!

Intergenic hybrid (Echeveria colorata x Graptopetalum amethystinum) credited to Robert Grim, distributed by the International Succulent Institute as ISI 1853 in 1988. Rosettes grow up to about 8 inches in size and offset. Very fat leaves can be a surprisingly broad range of colors (thus the name) but mostly pink and pale powdery blue in the sun. Provide very strong light (hours of daily sun) for best color and form. Relatively small flowers are yellow with pink bases in the sun and may open in spring or summer. Easy to grow from leaves or cuttings. May be forced to branch by beheading. Vulnerable to aphids on budding inflorescences and mealy bugs at the base of the leaves.
