This is the first year I have grown Homemade. I found the immature pickles to be too prickly to eat the rind. I would have to peel them. The taste when raw was excellent.
When I allowed them to mature to approximately 6 inches in length, I didn't care to eat the rind as it is too tough. At this size they do make a wonderful crisp fermented pickle.
The plants are more durable than other cucumbers I have grown in the past. They are still going strong and producing well. At this time in the season other cucumber plants I have grown have succumbed to a virus or wilt.
I will gladly grow these again next season.

(57 days) A medium green with white spines, this pickler can be harvested from 1-1/2 to 5 inches long for canning. It has excellent disease tolerance.
