We start our seeds in late April and usually expect to see blooms beginning in August. Our moonflowers are planted inside electric fences because the deer here will eat them, even though it's supposed to be a "deer resistant" plant. This is such a beautiful flower in bloom with marvelous fragrance, and it is fun to watch their pollinators, the big night hawk moths that look like hummingbirds.

Morning glories are a fast growing annual vine that self seed in my garden. While my originally planted morning glories were blue, the flowers on the volunteer plants are all colors of the rainbow except blue. I guess if I want blue flowers, I will have to plant them myself.
