Brand new to us this year, and it has never missed a beat. This is a truly fabulous daylily. It is a definite bud builder here with 45 buds on one scape and this is in August. Sure hope it continues to delight and surprise us with so many beautiful flowers.

I used to grow 'Beautiful Edgings' in my garden for years. It's a beautiful flower, but it grew and clumped very fast for me. As I'd divide it some, it would grow more fans in no time to fill in the space I took away. It made a large clump for me. Maybe I had it in soil that was nice and loose and well draining and that just made it want to grow fast.

When I had to get rid of most of my Daylilies of around 400 or more, that one went too.

Gorgeous blooms on this plant. Hardy, but not very vigorous for me here in my zone 6b Massachusetts garden.

I've grown Beautiful Edgings for 4 or 5 years now and have yet to see much color around the edges. It must need a warmer climate for that?
  • Posted by mystlw (Ohio - Zone 6a) on Aug 21, 2018 7:52 PM concerning plant:
This daylily is truly beautiful. I've had it for two years now, and while it doesn't multiply quickly, it really stood out this year. After a winter of several sub-zero periods, and during a summer of multiple heatwaves, most of my cultivars developed shorter scapes and fewer flowers. This was the one exception! The scapes grew to about 4 ft., and it bloomed for weeks.
I don't know why it did so amazingly well while the others around it struggled, but it was the best part of this less-than-stellar season.

I have had this daylily for a few years. It always seems like it is about to die out in spring. Then a couple fans barely grow. I haven't had more than one or two blooms since I have had it. Last year I didn't even get one. I looked up the hybridizer and they are from LA, http://www.ahsregion13.org/his... so maybe this is why. It is weird that I bought it at a local nursery because they usually try to offer ones that are known to do well in our area.
