Favored by all that visit my gardens. Exceptional plant. Very large, gorgeous blooms. Blooms for extended period. Prolific bloomer and increaser here in my zone 4a garden.
  • Posted by DogsNDaylilies (SE Michigan - Zone 6a) on Jul 14, 2015 5:23 AM concerning plant:
This is easily one of my favorite--maybe my favorite--daylilies! It is very cheery, doesn't fade in the sun, and doesn't wither in the rain. When it's blooming, it's really blooming! The flowers are so huge that they create a LOT of color. I'm considering moving it from where it currently is because it's so beautiful and showy, it's detracting from all of my other daylilies! It needs its own spot, where it can be the star of the show.

This is the daylily that literally takes my breath away every year! Great grower here in my 5b garden. Increases well and blooms always open well for me.The sight of a clump of Ruby Spider in bloom is spectacular. I highly recommend this plant.
  • Posted by Dayjillymo (Weatherby, Missouri - Zone 5a) on Jul 23, 2014 1:56 PM concerning plant:
Ruby Spider routinely grows 38 to 40 inches here in my zone 5 garden. It handles our hot temperatures and high humidity with grace and beauty. It has increased well for me even through our drought years. It is definitely one of my favorite reds.
  • Posted by Joy (Kalama, Wa. - Zone 8b) on Dec 3, 2011 7:08 AM concerning plant:
Ruby red spider self with yellow throat. Vigorous !!! Superior in a clump.
  • Posted by blue23rose (southern Indiana - Zone 6b) on Mar 23, 2014 11:37 AM concerning plant:
Love the large blooms on Ruby Spider, which never fails to brighten my day when a cluster blooms at one time. I can't imagine my garden without it.

I got this one at the very first daylily farm I visited, Glady Branch Daylilies in Reidsville, NC. So many beautiful plants. Sadly, I don't think they're in business any more. I believe I bought Ruby Spider and Holy Moses there.
