Propagation: Seeds: | Provide light Scarify seeds: File/Rub a small hole through the outer hard shell so that inner seed will be in direct contact with water during sprouting (2-4 days to sprout). Else it will take more than 10 days with a high rate of failure. Needs specific temperature: Sprouting container (filled with water!) needs to be placed outdoor under the direct sun, preferably when ambient temperature is around 70 degrees or higher. The hotter, the quicker the sprouting it will be. Days to germinate: With a combination of correct scarification and 70+ temperature, seeds sprout in 2-4 days, for both fresh (from last summer) & old (upto 8 yrs old) seeds. Can handle transplanting Seeds are hydrophilic |
Propagation: Other methods: | Division Other: For division by tuber, a minimum of one (or ideally two) full tuber segment with two intact nodes at both ends of the tuber. New shoots and rhizomes come out only at the nodes, not from the tuber. |
