I would prefer to call this the Aquatic Milkweed because it inhabits swamps, marshes, and various other wetlands and there are some other milkweeds with white flowers. Its native range is from South Carolina to all of Florida to east Texas through Arkansas & Missouri to southern Illinois & Indiana. It is a short-lived perennial with a taproot like many other milkweed species. It is sold by a few specialty mail order nurseries, some conventional nurseries, and some native plant nurseries.
