I took the afternoon off of gardening to visit Napa Iris Gardens today, an hrs drive from me.

It was their last weekend open so I didn't want to miss it another year. It was past peak but there was still plenty of blooms to see, I took 608 photos (including tags) and wanted to share a few.

Sue WOW those are some great pics I was wondering what the new intros looked like my favorite is Golden Gaga what a unique color and Loving You very nice flower Im glad you made it there and got to see it in bloom. Your pictures are perfect I have never seen some of these please post the rest of them What a beautiful place huh and you couldnt find more friendly people. I was shocked at how well groomed it was and how healthy the plants were no weeds, no leaf spot, it was pristine and the scenery all around I hope to go back one day and see it again.

Wow, what an incredible iris fix! Love it love it love it! I'm so glad you got pictures of their new introductions -- and I've ordered the first three. I'll be posting the last of my iris pictures for this spring today, and one of my very favorite irises now is Lesley Painter's PAGEANT'S GOWN, a 2010 introduction -- what a gorgeous neglecta! It's a late bloomer, one of my last to bloom -- and it was certainly worth waiting for! Until I saw PAGEANT'S GOWN my favorite neglecta was her RAINY RIVER, which I still totally love, but there was something about PAGEANT'S GOWN that instantly put it in my top ten favorites! (Boy, my computer is sure fighting me on the word "neglecta" -- it keeps changing it to "neglect"...)

Napa Country Iris Gardens is one of my very favorite places to order from, and I have placed an order with them every year since I discovered them. Their prices are very reasonable and they have a large variety to choose from, with great pictures, including some newer introductions from other hybridizers. And I really love their introductions each year, too.

Whew!! So did your list jump grow like mine did?!!

After we would go out for dinner and as we came home my late wife used to say "why did you let me eat so much". That is similar to the way I feel looking at these wonderful pictures...it is way to much to digest in one sitting so I will have to come back often and enjoy them a few at a time. Thanks for letting me visit Napa Valley Iris through your pictures as I will never get there.

Wow! That last one is just a mass of ruffles. I love it!

I love the copper with purple one, those are the rich colors I am drawn to. Well, I actually liked all of those! I ran out of time to see the other seedlings. I took 608 photos in 2 hrs. and left at closing time.
