Hi,

Do you have any recomdations ? I was looking @ Sorotimist Int'l & Devoniesis Cl. I'd really like a Yellow one and maybe something
beigeish..Climber or other it does not matter.

Thanks so much,
Shannon Thumbs up

Thanks, zuzu!!

Now....which ones to pick....many of them under the shrub category aren't in the database. (whine and whimper).

I have 'Edith Schurr' and 'Francis Blaise' picked so far. I have a theme of shrubs around 4 feet and need 5 to complete my circle garden.

Off to check out more of them!

Look up the ones that aren't in our database here, Trish. RU has a problem with spelling, so some of the ones you might look up will not be found because you're using RU's spelling.

http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

If you like Edith Schurr and Francis Blaise, which have lots of petals, you'll probably like Versigny (same breeder as Francis Blaise):

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Cinderella Fairy Tale:

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Tchaikovski:

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Gypsy Lantern has fewer petals, but I think it's a really neat shrub rose.

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

And if you don't have Autumn Sunset yet, you (and everyone else) really should have it. It's a shrub and it can be pruned to stay a shrub, but it can also be set free to climb to about 12 feet.

And now for Shannon, in zone 7 you probably should stay away from hybrid teas unless you're totally crazy about them. Soroptimist is a mini, so it won't ever grow into a spectacular bush, and Devoniensis is a great rose, but it doesn't have much of a rebloom. Aside from Autumn Sunset (see my post addressed to Trish), floribundas might be the best choice for you. They rebloom like crazy and there are lots of great yellow and beige ones.

Antique Artistry is a nice yellow floribunda:

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Fragrant Apricot is one of my favorite floribundas and it has a lot of beige-apricot in it:

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

In my opinion, the best floribundas on the list of sale plants are Brothers Grimm, Easy Does It, and Colorific, but they don't really match your color preferences.

I agree with sue and zuzu. Those 3 floribundas grow very well here in zone 6/7.

Shannon & Trish - if y'all haven't ordered from RU before, you're gonna be shocked at the size of the roses you'll get. These won't be teeny little bands.. these will be gorgeous 1gal roses. I broke down & ordered 5 myself.. after I *swore* I wasn't going to order any more from RU due to my weather here! But I can't help it.. they have some gorgeous roses you won't find anywhere else.

Shannon - Order an English Perfume & put it in your blue garden. Trust me. Angel http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

You are all enablers, you know that?!?!?
I have to face reality that this is NOT a good time for me to be ordering roses.

Zuzu - I saw Strawberry Ice and fell in love.. but I want blooms w/scent as you know. That's why I went with who I did. I already have English Perfume, but I love that one SOO much I want more. I can't seem to get Lady X to survive at all so I'm trying her. Again. Same with Solitude. I love that rose.. but last year it didn't survive for me (too small). I thought for sure that Twilight Tryst was gonna pull through, but a late frost did that one in and the roots were killed. I'll get them to survive THIS year!!!

I understand. I ordered another English Perfume, but someone ( Smiling ) had already bought all of them.

I already have Strawberry Ice and I did have Suffolk at one time, but the other two will be new to my garden. Strawberry Ice's lack of fragrance really doesn't matter. It's such a short rose bush that you'd have to lie down on the ground to smell it.

I sent them my order by e-mail last night and received confirmation this morning at 6:00. English Perfume was already gone by then. So was Eliane Gillet, another rose I had ordered. But I'm happy with the four I'm receiving.

Shannon and Trish, don't give up. One year they had a second sale in early July, offering all of the leftovers at $4.00 each. No matter what's going on in your life at that time, a $4.00 rose bush from RU is not to be passed up.

Priorities, right?!?!?

I don't mind waiting, and it really is for the best. Dave and the others will have a hard enough time keeping up with the rest of the gardens and everything else without me adding things that they will have to coddle.

A few months won't hurt me. Besides....that will give me more time to perfect my "need" list!

Yes, Trish, I suppose a new baby trumps a $4.00 rose. Smiling
