I live in southcentral KY and we have had a very hot and dry summer here. I always like to look at the AHS favorite daylilies and was wondering what folks on here would consider their best performing daylilies for this yr. Here is what did well in my garden. I don't have the latest intros but these still did very well. Oldies can be goodies ;)

Hi Teresa! What a great thread! My year was pretty dismal, with the high heat that was out of the ordinary. Only one of my daylilies was really outstanding this year, as far as the total number of blooms goes. That would be Strutter's Ball. I don't have any of the latest and greatest either, but to be honest, I really like many of the older ones. Even though many of mine are older, I think they are fantastic! I also like to buy ones that I know perform well for others. If they've been around at least 5 to 10 years, I feel more confident about purchasing them. I'm cheap, too, which is another reason why I haven't bought any new ones.

Mystical Rainbow was by far my favorite this year!
Song Writer put on a nice show, but it didn't have many blooms. That's probably because it was just planted last year. It did look gorgeous though, and was a close second for my favorite.
Moonlit Masquerade was gorgeous, but it didn't have a lot of blooms.
Victorian Lace did okay this year, and held up well to the heat. Lots of "bad hair day" blooms on it, but that gave me something to laugh about!
Strutter's Ball got a late start, but bloomed very well. I was impressed with it, since it didn't get going until it got super hot out! It hasn't been one of my favorites, but it really made an impression on me this year, and I really love it now! It had way more blooms this year than any other daylily that I have. And, it didn't melt in the heat, which made me really happy!

FERN STONE started blooming in March and reblooms like crazy. It was still trying to send up more scapes this month (I cut them off after hybridizing is done)

Darla Anita grows great for me too. And another really inexpensive daylily by Northern Lights (Mike Grossman) is his own EVERMORE LIGHTS. This plant is a wonderful grower and bloomer.

Well now there will be two votes for Can't Touch This, new here this year also. It bloomed it's head off and was one HUGE fan when I got it from Nicole. It is now 7 fans of all sizes. Since the fan was so large, it had huge flowers also, that just kept getting better and better.

1. Can't Touch This first flower, then later on

2. Dragonfly Dawn also new this year, was a very large fan that is now five fans. It made 5 scapes also. First flower open then later.
