I finally had the energy to go to the fridge (well, I'm ALWAYS in the fridge, but that's a different story) and look at my receipt of the other company that I'm getting roses from in the spring other that RU & Palatine.. and that's Burlington! I ordered 5 roses from them:

Baby Faurax (poly)
Lavender Crystal (mini)
Ring of Fire (mini)
Sweet Arlene (mini ?)
Vineyard Song (shrub)

I should be getting them in the spring (Aprilish). They don't have a working orderable website

http://www.burlingtonroses.com...

But you can see what they have available here:

http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Burling Leong is the person who runs the company and they're a VERY nice nice person!!

Oh thanks Skie for bringing this to the forums!
I did a special order from her for Purple Buttons after reading about it on HMF
http://www.helpmefind.com/gard...

Anyways, she rooted a few after I contacted her, setting one aside for me and kept in touch by email a few times as to it's progress, delaying early shipment at one point when she wrote that she wasn't quite satisfied with it's progress and wanted to wait a little longer. That's a special service over and above what I am used to, felt like she was babysitting my plant and giving it the best attention. When I got the healthy looking & well rooted plant, it had buds on it. It hit the ground running. I would definitely order from her again, very reasonable prices and an unusual list of hard to find roses which is refreshing considering so many other nurseries seem to carry the newest and/or most popular ones.

Burling is such a nice lady and she carries a great assortment, which includes most of the roses Sequoia used to carry. Her prices are ultra-reasonable and she's very approachable for advice. My latest orders from her included Silk Hat, Double Feature, and Most Unusual Day, all of which probably aren't available anywhere else.

It is spectacular. I used to have it, but it got killed by a horrible person. It's not a mini, though. It's a floribunda.

Yea, I see that now. But I saw that the flowers are no bigger than 2" and the plant barely gets over 2'. Isn't that a mini? I've bought some "minatures" that get to be 3' across...

And why would a horrible person kill your rose? Did you smack that person up side the head?

I wish I could give a good review here, but I did not have good fortune with the three specially rooted roses I received from Burling. All three (same cultivar) died. I am wondering if it is due to the cultivar itself... a brand new miniature with which she had no prior experience. They were extremely young and didn't appear very well-rooted when I received them. This was particularly disheartening because I had to pay not only for the roses but also the phytosanitary certificate (not a cheap endeavor!). I thought I gave them good care... but they bit the dust about a month after I received them. I think in the future, I will wait until stock is a bit older before I accept delivery.

Burling's catalog came yesterday, and I've been tempted to order Noack's "Kleine Dortmund". Any of you have experience with that one?
Many thanks.

I don't have it, and the photo of it on HMF apparently is of the wrong rose, so I can't say anything about it at all.

Have you called Burling? She's absolutely wonderful and will tell you anything you need to know about it.

OK, messaged Ms. Burling and asked her if she could send my roses as the weather should be good enough to put them into the ground.

Baby Faurax (poly)
Lavender Crystal (mini)
Ring of Fire (mini)
Sweet Arlene (mini ?)
Vineyard Song (shrub)

Then she tells me that Lavender Crystal didn't make it! Crying She wanted to send me a refund with the roses for that one and so I went through her list & asked her to substitute International Herald Tribune (?) for LC. Now, I'm not one for buying things named after newspapers, but the pictures of HMF were spectacular, so that's why I did it. She responded that it would be fine and that she liked that one better than Lavender Crystal! Yay! So they should be mailed out on the 12th and, provided the USP cooperates, I should have them by no later than the 15th and into the ground that weekend! Yay!

International Herald Tribune is a beauty, I have only seen it in one public rose garden here, added a picture to HMF and DG PlantFiles. A very bright clear purple, attractive.

Got my Burlington Roses in last night. SUPER DUPER WELL PACKED! OMG, one of the best packings I've seen! One of the roses was a little small and had only a couple of leaves, but the International Herald Tribune was a big healthy looking plant. When I put it in the ground last night, I was amazed at the root system on this baby. Wow! It's got front-row seats in my flower bed and this morning I gave it a nice drink of Age Old Kelp water (2oz for 2 gal).

Yay! But ignore the garage.. it's a MESS! :(

I think they're like $7/$8 per rose, plus shipping. If you email her, she'll send you an up-to-date catalog with what she has available & the prices. She's such a nice lady...

I seem to remember her prices being the same as Sequoia's. Does $10.50 ring a bell with anyone?
