This is a great forum idea! There are roses that grow just about anywhere on the planet, but finding those that are happy in some areas can be quite the challenge, often entailing lots of trial and error. Kentucky is "blessed" with the hot, muggy summers of the south, often accompanied with cold winters, 2 of the big challenges in rose culture. Nonetheless there are lots of wonderful Roses out there that thrive happily under these conditions!
These 2 have been an absolute joy in my garden, Leontine Gervais climbing on the pole, and Ballerina. LG has a soft, sweet fragrance, that has become more noticeable as the plant has gotten larger and produced masses of blooms. Ballerina has no scent that I've detected.
