Things are starting to bloom around here so I will start a thread on seedlings, not just mine but anyone who wants to post, please do.

Not great but interesting. Both are dips

Thanks, Fred! Can't wait to see what everyone is up to this year. In the photos above the second one says "same seedling x emerald starburst" do you mean that it has the seedling above it as a parent? if so, that's something. Looks like your starting your season off with a couple neat ones! Thumbs up My latest crop that I have not seen were put in the ground as seed infall of 2010. They are about an inch high, and don't look like they will be big enough to bloom this year. Last summer was really hard on them. They are the size of tiny baby seedlings. But, it looks like most of them made it. I'll have to live through the summer drooling over everyone else's seedlings. Green Grin!

I have an 'almost' seedling this morning. The only reason I might not cull it right away is, it has a nice tall strong scape on a nice looking plant. I was not looking for yellow tho, from its parents. Its about 3". It has also fought off rust from plants around it. A big plus.
Little Sea Sprite x Super Fancy Face

I love that Fred has different seedlings from a common parent. I cant get a scape on any of my ES seedlings :-(Thumb of 2013-04-13/gardenglory/15e276

How the heck did the picture get over there??

Pam, I really do like your seedling. It "speaks" to me. If it stays around 3", I think it would be a great little one.

Fred, I like your little one also. I haven't bought any little ones but I really started liking them last year and if these two are any indication, I'm into them again this year. I'll probably have to get a few this fall.

SO, pretty everyone!!!

This is the pod parent to the first two seedlings above.
I used this seedling hopeing it would carry the branching
to it's off spring. The flower is not pretty but it's branched
from bottom to top on a 30" scape.

This was the seedling of the day yesterday, it being a poly
didn't hurt. I did not check the rest of the buds but this
will most likely be the only 4 x 4

Another cull flower today. I had such high hopes for this. Nary a sign of a dark eye or sculpting. Its big tho, and doesnt recurl.

Meant to comment yesterday on your posting Fred and got sidetracked...Super nice branching on that sdlg you're using. The poly bloom is awesome! I really enjoy seeing the advancements and possibilites that can be made with different forms by adding patterns. Daylilies here are from just poking out of the ground to maybe 2" tall. So nice to see new bloom images in the forum, it extends my season Smiling

Pam, that's to bad about the sculpting, neat cross! Sculpted form outcross kids don't always show sculpting... you could keep the best ones and try crossing back.

Fred, I don't think I've ever seen any branching quite like that. very cool ! You'll have to let us know if it does get passed along to the kids.

The small flower above I used as a pod parent also increases like a weed, but isn't that the way it always goes, the worse looking seedlings always do the best.

I don't have any blooms on my seedlings yet, or any scapes for that matter, but I do have blooms of two of Subhana Ansari's seedlings that I just love and wanted to share, and I just received permission from Subhana to post them.
