Your photo shows the blue color perfectly. One of my favorites the past two years has been Blue Eyed Susan. It's not really blue more a shade of purple with a blue base. The corona is extremely long and full and it has a wonderful fragrance too. It didn't overwinter as well this year as last, but is finally outside so I'm hoping it will take off growing and bloom this year.

That is really pretty! Hadn't seen that variety before! It's similar to Incense and Inspiration, but this one looks more intense! Gotta get my Inspiration planted out so I can drool over flowers, too! Smiling

Those pasies look amazing! I have enough, but still, it's tempting!

Can anyone suggest a good passiflora for a zone 7a garden, or possibly in 7b? Not sure yet which zone I'm in, but it's probably closer to 7a. Will have to wait until winter gets here to find out! I need one that will survive being left outside, since I am a complete failure at keeping plants alive in the house.

I really love Blue Eyed Susan and Amethyst! If I could grow one with the color of Amethyst, that looks like Blue Eyed Susan, it would be perfect!

My passies are blooming too! Have you seen Aurantia? Starts out a creamy color and morphs into red! Next is Blue Crown then Lady Margaret.

Is Aurantia cold-hardy? Looks cool! Great pics, BTW!

Thanks! It's an Australian native and I've seen it rated for zone 9 but not zone 8. I always pot up the roots in Fall and over winter in the greenhouse.

My first two passifloras are growing better than I expected! Both are of the same variety, but one is planted in-ground and one is in a container close by. The one in-ground has a bit of lightening between veins, but I'm guessing that's because the soil there is still a bit cooler than they prefer. I'm not worried about it long-term though; it's in a hot spot that should warm quickly.

Yay! Hurray!

I grew one years ago, but this is the first time for 'Lady Margaret'. Those blooms are so intricate. I'm growing it in a large container and propose to overwinter it in the garage. I'm hoping to let a not too cold frost knock it down and hopefully keep it dormant during the winter months. Think that will work?

I'm hoping so.

Mine are thrilling me with their growth rate right now; they're halfway up their 9' support already! I'm surprised too, because I'd heard that they really don't like cold weather, and it's been very cool lately.

Oh, my! I just looked up an image of passiflora buds...and mine have a bunch of them! Hurray! At first I thought those were just going to be new leaf clusters, but I started wondering when it seemed to take too long for them to unfurl! Hilarious!

My plants are 8' tall already, and I thought the tag said they would be more like 4'...just how long/tall do these get? They're grabbing my wind chimes (at roof height) now, and headed onward...should I trim it back, or put another piece of fencing up overhead? Will trimming long shoots help the buds that are already set, or doesn't it make a difference?

I ended up twining the overgrowth back through the support for now...and they're blooming today! No picture yet as it's raining too hard, but the sun is supposed to shine tomorrow. Smiling
