While there are many I love, I think Clematis is my favorite perennial vine in the Cottage Garden. What's your favorite?

I have some Clematis and also many vining honeysuckle vines. Another vine I like to use, althought they are annual, is morning glory and cardinal climber.

Neat Rita I see you have at least 3 varieties of clematis growing together. I'd love to see that in person. In fact I'd love to see your gardens as I have read your postings on GW but guess we didn't visit the same forums on DG. I can tell you're a dedicated gardener. Drooling Smiling

I actually planted for kinds on that tower, one died out so I have three. I got the idea for putting multiple vines on it to make that bloom season longer for it, it seems to change color (sometimes mulicolored) as the different ones bloom.

On Gardenweb you can always find me on the daylily forum. Often on the cottage garden forum and the rose forum.

Clematis are my favorites for certain! I'll take some photos tomorrow if I get a chance. I've got them on the mailbox, the steps, the porch, up the deck and in the garden Smiling Just a happy accident, as someone had a great sale 11 years ago when I was starting my gardens and I ordered a huge amount, but I love them now, and they just keep going and going! Trying some honeysuckle and some annual vines like Lablab and Scarlet Runner this summer for the first time.

I love Scarlett Runner Beans, I usually have some planted just for the flowers. Never tried eating the beans.

I came home with two new trumpet honeysuckle vines today. Dropmore Scarlett and Major Wheeler. I have a Major Wheeler but I would love another. It just blooms all summer.

Love those 3 colors together!

My Clems are really growing this year- a first for me! A couple of early ones have been putting on a show, and the later ones are finally climbing to the tops of their supports! Very exciting Smiling

Maybe it is just a good year for Clematis. Mine have never looked so good before. Of course, I only planted them in 2007 so it could be that they finially have some maturity on them.
