I was unable to locate the thread that questioned who was using the new flexible hoses. I am and I love it.
It is light and reaches where I want it to go easily.

Consumer reports says this one is the best, has the least problems with pressure.

Do you use it to set out a sprinkler? I can see how handy it would be for watering or storing in a boat, or camper etc. But it won't stay at full length for setting a sprinkler out. How to you turn on the water to extend the hose with a sprinkler on the end without getting wet by the sprinkler?

You would have to turn off the water (not on sprinkler end), detach the sprinkler then drain the hose. It's not really practical for that. I think it's meant more for hauling around to water with. Very lightweight.

They did say that was a drawback. IThere is a shut off button and if you are very fast you can put the springler on after it is fully loaded. but stand back when you turn it back on.

But for me it works very well. I do hand watering up to about 50 feet and it works like a charm.

Storing it is so much easier. I did see an upgraded one xpro or something like that that has brass vs plastic fittings, I think that would
be much better.

Oh yes, I'll have to check into that because my only issue with it is the plastic fittings don't always seal tightly. I hate drippy hoses!

I could see these being useful and out of the way.

I buy 15 ft remnant hoses at Big R and put a shut off valve on them on the end that doesn't have the sprinkler, then attach my supply hose to that. Turn on the water at the faucet with the valve on the hose turned off, and you can adjust the sprinkler from a safe distance. Smiling Don't know if that would work with those flexible hoses because I don't have one yet. But I mean to get one soon!

I love this hose, very light, works well if you have good water pressure, easy to store using up small space...however..it can easily puncture along the creases. A bit disappointed but I have mine temporarily hose bandaged, since I really enjoy using it.

I LOVE those in-line shut off valves! My garden is strung out all over the place and the faucets are few and far between, so it's really neat to be able to just turn on the water at the supply and then shut off the hose as needed. Smiling

My flexible hose is totally kaput now, while I was using it the other day, it started to make a big bubble, like a bubble gum and got blown out, leaving a big hole..no hose bandage can mend it..oh well...bye bye flexible hose..it was good while it lasted Rolling my eyes.

I have hear that returns are easy at HD. Keep the receipt. Mine have been holding up well and I drag them all over the yard. Love the two that are joined. Provides a shut off close to where I set the sprinkler. No more getting soaked to adjust the placement. Rolling on the floor laughing Hurray!

I found this other hose at our local OSH, called HydroHose..since my other flexible hose is a goner now, I will try how this one goes. So far, I like that it comes in cute designs..I got the one with a ladybug design. Price is a little higher than the pocket hose..this one is $29.97 + taxes. Keeping fingers crossed that it will be better.

Did it come with metal fittings? I think that would be a good featue. I know some brands offer them.
Like the fancy cover.
I will be interested in hearing if it was worth the $$ difference.

If it has metal fittings I would buy it. That's the only part about the other one I don't like.

Got to try it out this morning. No metal fittings here, more like rubber-like fittings, looks a bit sturdier than the plastic fittings of the pocket hose. There is a rubber washer you can add or remove when you attach to the faucet. The nozzle that came with it is like a fireman's nozzle, so you can twist off and on at the nozzle, and adjust the spray the way you like it. But I think I would still use my other nozzle, where it clearly defines what time of spray will come out. Now the sad thing is, it is a tad short, I guess I need more than 40 ft.; I thought I had enough oh well..but it still works, I just have to remember to use my other longer, heavier hose to reach the orchid area.

Now it is too early to tell how sturdy the material is for the hose itself. So far it does not kink, but when I was changing water spray mode, there is a considerable slack on the hose, but the water still comes out, though seems less pressure. I like that the other end attached to the faucet was not leaking, the pocket hose leaked.

This hose is also lightweight, similar to the pocket hose, but it does not retract like the pocket hose after you turn off the main faucet.
