I have been working on an island garden for the past year. The plan was to cover up/hide the ugly BIG green electrical box in my front yard. This spring when all things were in flower it hit me that everything I planted there had the colors of the sunset, everything in the yellow-red spectrum. As of right now I have 3 types of Canna, day lilies, a dahlia (hasn't bloomed but supposed to be orangy red), gladiolas, blackberry lily, and couple of iris'. Any suggestions on what else to add to the island?

If you want contrast or to set off the sunset colors, how about deep or brilliant purples? Dwarf Lavender, short Clematis (Roguchi is wonderful), Agapanthus, May Night Salvia, Veronica...
