Yes, Edmund's was sold to Jung several years ago and has never been the same since. It was once a highly respected nursery that grew most of its own plants. Now it's only a middleman. All of the Edmund's stock was sold before the sale was finalized, so Jung bought only the name.

Here's a rose photo I couldn't add to the database, but it's too pretty not to post somewhere. It's the one Amity used to sell as its mystery hybrid tea. As far as I know, no one ever came up with an ID for it.

This one has now been identified as Lincoln Cathedral.

Zu - that DEFINITELY is a beautiful rose... too bad we don't know who it is!!

Dunno if I'll get one last flush before the season winds down here.. I'm thinking so as I've got lots & lots of buds everywhere (deadheaded last night as the skeeters weren't too terrible). Had a massive storm rip through my neighborhood last night.. rained like cats & dogs for about 10 minutes. Got probably 1/4 inch of rain in 10 minutes, then poof, gone. But didn't beat down Artistry..

Your Artistry looks like my Summer Sun that finally decided to flush. My Summer Song, on the other hand, decided to just give it up altogether. That's so sad, because it had such promise earlier this year. My Austin roses from Palatine were not successful. I understand why they no longer offer them. The ones from Austin, though, look great! Some had NO irrigation this year since I was gone so much, and they are blooming now. In a week or so, hopefully, I'll have the drip system finished and the poor babies will finally get what they need.
That's IF I get my butt in gear and get it finished. Tomorrow there's a big plant sale at an arboretum, and I rationalize spending time and money there because it's wildflowers, natives, bee and butterfly plants. The beekeeper came yesterday, and he said I have the best hives he's ever seen. He's adding even more boxes! So I need to add more plants, right? Rolling my eyes. nodding

Got to keep those bees happy!

I don't think I ever bought Austins from Palatine, but I think I included a Summer Song for Sue in one of my Palatine orders. I think it's growing well. Austin roses usually are available at a dozen local nurseries now, so my mail-order Austins came from Wayside a long time ago. I also ordered some from Pickering and Hortico, with mixed results.

The more I look at this mislabeled rose from Rogue Valley, the less irritated I am at having three of them. They brighten up a slope that's full of daffodils and bleeding hearts in spring and full of dead and dying foliage afterward. I only wish I could identify it.

These have been identified since I wrote this post. The first one is Prairie Flower.

Here's another mislabeled rose from Rogue Valley. It has canes arching 10-15 feet and a medium-sized bloom, no more than 2-3 inches across. I rarely see the blooms because it balls badly in wet weather and in hot weather. Unfortunately, the buds start opening during our rainy season in late March and a couple of times again during heat waves in summer. This time the weather cooled down briefly when the buds were opening, so I have a few blooms. It's similar to E. Veyrat Hermanos in its habit and in its regrettable tendency to ball, so it might be a climbing tea. It only has half the petals of E. Veyrat Hermanos, however, so that's where the similarity ends.

This one is Leontine Gervais.

Does Chuckles have any siblings or close relatives?
Both those roses are lovely, but it would drive me nuts to not know the name.

I have at least 10 unidentified roses from Rogue Valley and I've given away at least 10 others. I had to stop ordering roses from Rogue Valley because I just can't trust them. There are a few roses they're supposedly carrying that I really want, but I'm highly likely to get a rose I didn't want at all, perhaps a fourth specimen of the one pictured above.

Cindi, it really doesn't look anything like Chuckles to me anymore.

I can't see the foliage in your photo of the pink blend single, but it kind of reminds me of 'Britannia'

http://www.helpmefind.com/rose...

Good 'n Plenty is another candidate, but it is under patent so RVR should not be selling it

Of course, I am only guessing.

It looks a lot like Britannia, Lin. It would be ironic if it were because I already have Britannia. I bought it in 2006 from Vintage Gardens and it still hasn't bloomed! It never grew much beyond rooted-cutting size in all these years. Definitely a dud! I really don't know why I haven't discarded it, but I guess hope springs eternal. Big Grin

Zuzu.... I moved a 'Sweet Chariot' I had planted a few years ago this spring. I knew it could be a good rose because I had grown it in Socal. Moving it just six feet has made all the difference in the world. the plant is more than three times the size it had been in its previous location in one season ! The same with 'Rainforest', which had been planted in the same bed.

I found out ... the hard way, of course, .... that those two roses were sited in the coldest micro-climate in my garden. Moving them made all of the difference.

Smiles,
Lyn

PS... I hope it is 'Brittania' ... then you would know the name of the rose Smiling

Yes, I have two of those, Sue. I love Marjorie Fair. The blooms on the mystery rose are at least twice as big as the ones on Marjorie Fair. It really looks like Cocktail with skewed coloring. The blooms are the same size and shape as the ones on Cocktail, but they're cherry red with a white center instead of being true red with a yellow center.
