I was one of the first 300 contributors to the plant database! Daylilies
I didn't see a thread started for September, hope I'm not duplicating!

Had to post this one, FFO on Outer Limits I purchased in spring. Dang little thing even has a proliferation starting.

I think it did well with this first flower display considering the weeds, lack of rain etc.

I haven't had a bloom for two weeks or better. Guess I didn't pick the right cultivars.

But I love seeing everyone else's blooms and Outer Limits is very nice indeed!

Sandy, I just peeked at some of your pictures. My what beautiful daylilies you have! Really like Ledgewoods Firecracker and Sabine Bauer. Of course, there are many others but these are sticking in my head right now:)

Smoky Mountain Autumn is still blooming. Has about a half dozen buds on it yet. It's almost always my longest bloomer. This year it started in early June and hasn't missed a lick. This shot was taken in late afternoon after a 102 degree day in the sun. The color and substance are still good. Some of these older hybrids just can't be beat

Grouping the late bloomers together is a nice idea. Wish I had more too. Nothing blooming today.

Nice blooms everyone. 'Outer Limits' looks gorgeous, and 'Smokey Mtn. Autumn' is beautiful.

My garden is winding down now. So sad. 'Jelly Maker', new to my garden this past Spring sent up a scape with about 6 buds on it. Gee, don't know if this one will make it to bloom. Depends on those cold morning openings, and how rapidly it starts to get cold up here. The past 2 weeks have been glorious. No complaints. Last blooms on the following:

Really, oh I didn't see that on the site. I would like to see pics too.

Went back and looked again and you are right. That's too bad, I didn't know that the owner of the plants was deceased. I sure would like a couple of her plants myself but I don't like planting this late in the season.

My Purple Maze has a couple of buds left on the rebloom scape and my yellow that is supposedly NOT HAPPY RETURNS is sending up another scape. So whatever it is it has bloomed all summer!! nodding

Thanks for the link, Cindy. It is sad to hear about Isabel Hibbard's Gardens. Looks like she had a very good thing going with the lates and very lates.

Yes, I hope so too! Wish I would have known that earlier, I would have pushed the budget a bit to get some. I have seen them in various catalogs here and there. Maybe LI Rita would know what will be happening to her plants. She is the one who first told us about them, if I remember right.

I left for work too early, and came home to late, but even in the dark I could see that Cheetah Safari, Best In Class, and a beautiful NoID purple bloomed today. Sorry, no photos.

I can also sadly comment that Holly Dancer bloomed it's last for the year yesterday - it has been simply outstanding this year, and has been blooming for 2 months. I still have buds on other ones, hopefully my work schedule will manage to allow me to get some photos over the next week or so. ~Jan
