Noticed my first scape yesterday. It was on Penny's Worth. It is always the first to bloom, and also the last to bloom here in my garden. It reblooms so often, it is almost in constant bloom. One of my favorites! And, the plants are so small, you can tuck them in everywhere along a perennial border.

Anyone else excited to see bloom this year, and seeing your first scape coming up?

I am excited to see some of my seedlings. They were moved from a terribly over crowded seedling bed 2 years ago, and this will be the 3rd summer blooming in their current location. If they don't show good bud count and branching - COMPOST TIME! It is my last seedling crop, and it's tough to make choices to discard some when I know I won't be putting in more seedlings.

This is Penny's Worth

My Penny's Worth isn't scaping yet, but was just planted about a month ago. Glad to hear it has such a long bloom time.
I've got quite a few scapes coming up. Normal peak bloom is mid July here, so this is very early to be seeing scapes. I've been finding new ones almost daily for the last week or so. I noticed a scape on one of my seedlings in early April. We've had a cool spring so it's developing very slowly.

I've even got a couple very earlies blooming earlier than normal. Orangeman and Lemon Lily.

These are the plants I remember seeing scapes on. (Mostly oldies)

ALWAYS AFTERNOON
BOAGIE
DOUBLE DOWN
Ditch lily
HELIX
Unknown pale yellow
PAPER BUTTERFLY
ROCKY'S EYE
Stella De Oro
SUMMER WIND
WINNING WAYS
3 different seedlings

Seems there were some scapes on some newly acquired plants too? But I can't remember the names right now. I need to take pen and paper out with me and take some notes.

Bitsy has sent up a slew of scapes. It's my earliest DL. It blooms from the end of May, first of June, to mid-August. It's like the energizer bunny. Picture was taken Aug. 12th and it wasn't finished yet. There's nothing spectacular about it, the flower is maybe 2.5-3.0", the stems are tall and thin, and it starts to fall over after a while. I keep it because it's a happy plant.

Oh, my gosh - I found a scape this morning on Fad Gadget. It is coming out of the center of the fan, so I don't think it is a rebloom scape from last year. This is REALLY early to start seeing scapes.

They seem to be early everywhere except some places in the south. By the looks of it, I'm expecting a mid June peak bloom this year. Peak bloom for me is usually mid July.

Saratoga Springtime has been blooming for awhile now. This morning Christopher Moody opened it's first ever bloom for me. Admittedly, this one was just planted about a couple weeks ago and came from FL with a scape. The base color is more yellow than I expected. I think later flowers may be better.

All the rain and no late frost this year have my daylilies looking wonderful. If the foliage now is any indication, it should be a fabulous year. Most of mine have been in place 2-5 years now, so they should be settled in.

We are getting a lot of rain too. Every day I walk out to check on them, they are greener, larger and there's new scapes everywhere. I have big hopes for this bloom season too. Can't wait to start posting pictures and seeing everyone else's too.

Yesterday I was so surprised to see scapes starting on 2 of my 'Night Beacon' packaged lilies that I had bought at Costo. I potted them March 18 and had them under grow lights. I planted them in the garden May 20, I did not expect to see a scape until early or mid July. Hurray!

Hope the weather co-operates so that I get a couple of decent blooms. Hilarious!

I have a lot of scapes too. This is early for me and I expect I'll have peak bloom at least a month earlier than normal.
Can't wait to post my photos here, so I'm hoping for the best too. Looking forward to everyone elses photos too. Hurray!

Here's FFO on Egyptian Queen. Why don't we start a new thread for June Blooms on June 1? That way we can all enjoy our blooms together. Don't think there are enough of us yet to do a thread for each day. If the June thread gets too long we can always have a part 2 and 3.
