Keith Keppel's catalog arrived today. A catalog again, not a folder. Lots of nice things to choose from including a good selection of Blyth iris. I'll spend some time with it this evening and see what tempts me.......

Drop him a note at Keith Keppel, P.O. Box 18154, Salem Oregon, 97305 or E-mail him at <[email protected]>. If I were to write to him I would include a few dollars for the catalog. Nice pictures. He has listed again many of his intros that are a few years old and a lot of Blyths. My experience is that he introduces nice iris, sends nice rhizomes, and is generous with gifts/extras. Thumbs up

Giggles that he had to go back to the catalog. I guess the folded notebook didn't work too well. Only 2 IBs for medians. OH well.

Keith has produced some wonderful medians. The ones that bloomed for me this spring were very nice. Raspberry Ice was a special favorite. Among his comments in the catalog he admits to have a passion for TB's and a realization of how many good medians that Mid-America introduces each year.

This will be one of the few things I will look forward to about returning to frozen Iowa, but I'm glad to hear it is a catalog form this year, I would guess it must be pretty expensive to produce these but what a treat to have them, I sure enjoy going through it every year always good advice and a nice selection of plants.

The Keppel is usually the first to arrive for us, followed by Superstition Gardens in Feb. We have Schreiner's mini catalog on line.

Sorry that Keith didn't keep listing IB 'Soft Word' I managed to get it as an extra after he left it out of the catalog. Since it does well here & he uses it as a pod parent the resulting plant should be hardy.

I got my Keppel Catalog too. Don't know how I'm going to limit myself , I do like most of the new intros, but no way can I afford them all. Just have to see which ones I can't live without. I know House Arrest is one I have to have, then there's Arrivederci, and then Gambling Man, and and and . . . Oh well, it's good to be back on the computer. Darn thing bit the dust the other day, couldn't get it to boot up. Needed a new switch. I was pretty worried, as I hadn't backed up my iris inventory with the new ones I added last year. (over a 100) I am breathing easier now.

Ooh-ooh Tom -- you're lucky that wasn't a permanent crash. My worst nightmare. I haven't backed up all of my recent work either. Whistling Glad your computer is back up and running.

The Irises in his catalog are beautiful, aren't they? Fortunately -- there are a couple from a year or two ago that I like better than most of the intros. So -- IF I were going to actually purchase any Irises this year -- I wouldn't have to spend a fortune............. Rolling my eyes.

We were not able to finish clean up last fall so I am not sure how many places are open. I remember 3 TB places, not sure of the SDB ones. Going into the winter, last year's purchase 'Janet Price' (Bushnell) had 5 or 6 increase. So can't wait for that one.

Mary Ann,
I said last year that I wasn't going to buy any new cultivars, but ended up with 75 new ones. I'm not even going to make that foolish statement this year.
