We had a very weird winter this year. In December it got very cold for about a week. Down in the teens, which is fairly rare. Then it was pretty mild until the first week in February, when we got a lot of snow and cold tempts that hung around for just over a week. That was the last time it was cold enough to freeze. So spring sprang early this year. All my daylilies were up and growing in January and the snow and freeze in February didn't seem to faze them in the least. It was a chilly 50 degrees and wet today, but we are suppose to be in the 60"s and dry by the weekend. I'm counting my blessings as I know much of the country has had a very tough winter.

yes, it has been a really long winter here. My witch hazels are just coming into full bloom and often they bloom in mid January or at the latest by mid February.

Spring is finally here but it looks cold out today. Very dreary but at least not as windy as yesterday.

Finially! SPRING! If only the weather would co-operate!

It is a nice sunny day here. But with the strong rains overnight the ground is totally, totally soggy. But is is in the high 40's in the shade right now. Should go over 50 today. So it is mild.

Juli, lovely, lovely picture of that crabapple in bloom.

Must be spring somewhere? right? Cause it ain't here...yet. Got a couple inches of fresh snow/sleet last night. Temps into the low-mid 40's today so most of it will melt off. Still have a little less than a foot of snow covering everything with my plowed up snowbanks still around 4 feet. I'm pretty sure I was already tilling up the veggie garden ground by this time last year.

Me, I blame Canada. In years past they did a much better job of keeping the arctic air in their own backyard...this year they've been sharing far too much...

Well believe me it doesn't look too much like spring here either, we got about 3 or 4 inches of snow yesterday evening, cold 25f degrees and sunny today, hopefully the sun will melt that white stuff. Glare

I'm with you, Rita. Rain, warmer temps, and lots of sunshine. That should do it.

Plowman came this morning, Debra. Hurray! 2'' of very wet, slushy, heavy snow. Melting fast. Big, black crows are in my driveway, eating God knows what. The fact that the birds are back is a sign of Spring. Thumbs up

No Spring here today either. It's been snowing on and off all day. Spring came in like a lion last night, with the wind roaring so loud that it was almost impossible to sleep.

Love the snow flower Char!

I think your weather came to visit, Margaret. The only time I was outside was to fill up the birdbath and toss some more seed out for the birds, since Jackson ate half of it, and the other half blew away! I hope it is nicer tomorrow.
