These are my hibiscus babies that arrived today. Names are blue heaven, pumpkin pie, and spring fever. I planted them in pots so I can pamper them for a year. I love hibiscus flowers!

Ooo, they sound really neat. Can't wait to see your pictures when they bloom!

Keep an eye out for spider mites, some hibs are mite magnets! Others like the older varieties never have any problems, it's hit or miss.

Soapy water also works great, not as a repellent, but if you do see some actual insects. About a tsp. of dish soap to a quart of water kills 'em.

I like to wait to spray until I actually see the bugs.

I've never heard of been oil, did you mean Neem oil? It's very good, but expensive. I'd save it for when you really need it.

They're annuals, so most of them produce all summer.

Some do, if you plant many varieties, should be something blooming. I think Iceland poppies are the first blooms

My poor hibiscus babies, that I had just transplanted were attacked today when my goats escaped. They pulled them right out of the pots and chewed them. This is what I have left after repotting them
