Same here! Foliage is especially good in the shade. What is the plant with green leaves with maroon chevron in the top row middle? I have that but have no idea what it is
I have Red Dragon as well, gets so big though but ,worth it for all the color it gives. Mine gets 6 feet tall by 5 feet wide, the Painters Pallet stays small. Also have a small groundcover persicaria don't know the name (given to me) but is really spreading. Glad it's in a contained smaller garden.
I only discovered Coleus a few years ago and what a difference it makes in the desert garden. Much needed and welcome color, especially love it in the fall !

Vickie,
I love that geranium too, It's either Tricolor or Mrs. Pollock. Not much difference between this two in my eyes, they booth bloom orange. Tricolor is in every nursery around here. Also they don't seem to bloom as much as a regular zonal.
Julia, read this article again and realize the pictures you used were fantastic and great examples of points you made regarding flowers and foliage. It's quite fun to hunt for "hitting you between the eyes" foliage. I found a lot of that in PNW public Botanical Greenhouses I visited a few years ago.
