with a list of what haves in her list match the wants in mine and vice versa.

I think I like it!

Neat little toy I put together. It found about 20 matches and sent tree mails to the matching parties. I'll probably run this once every 6 months or so.

I'd run it once a month if nobody tells you a reason not to!

I add things like crazy to my want list - thanks to the random plant photo mostly!
But I rarely go track a plant down to the point of tree mailing them about it. I DO that, but not often.

Whoa--run it on me, run it on me! The time I spend trolling through lists... Knew there was a reason I joined ATP.

I love it! I got matched up but the last time my match posted anything was a year ago.

@dave, rather than you running the bot periodically, could you put a button on our list page, so we could run a search ourselves. That way we could run it when ever we add new plants to our list, rather than waiting for you to run it. Of course it would have to be programed to run just for the individual that ran it, instead of for everyone like it is now.

I like the idea, Jay. Let me contemplate it a bit.

And while you're contemplating Dave, I'm going to say there are bound to be people who don't want to be a part of this & will want an "opt out" option so their plants are not considered when the matchmaker search is done. I am NOT one of those but I know there will be those.

Ann, I don't think it's going to match with someone who just has the plant in their inventory, just ones who actually checked it off as available to trade so they shouldn't mind.

@flaflwrgrl, If I understand this correctly, it only matches people that have plants listed for trade. So there is no need to opt out. If someone did not want to participate then, they would just not list any plants as available for trade. Cross posted with Sue.

Sue, I'm thinking that it's been about a year since the person has posted here that they probably don't log on much anymore. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they do soon! I'm really wanting the Yellow Lady Banksia.

Well, cuttings might be arranged elsewhere.
