I've got an open iris!
This one was given to me, and was called Pussy Toes, not sure if that's for real or not, but it's open and such a tiny mite.

Also have my first tulip open today! Oh what joy!

This one opens yellow, then turns orange.

It's a Miniature Dwarf Bearded Iris so should be among the first to blooms. The description seems consistent with your iris, Tom. No pictures in the database yet, but the iris wiki has some that look very similar to yours.

Thanks, It was a splendid day today, sun shining all day, a bit windy, but after a week of clouds and rain it was sure nice to be outside and find a little one open. Got the yard mowed at least. Now I can look forward to rain tomorrow. Last year I looked in the data base, and couldn't find it, this year I see it, but no pictures to compare, so I didn't want to put it in unless I was certain. Guess I will now.

Yah, but it's a pretty short parade yet, lol 3 steps and is't over. I have a couple more coming soon though. These are all near the house where it's warmer.

Little parades become big ones! A few days ago I only had a couple Iris to show -- now they're popping open like crazy. Got a bunch of pictures in the wind today. Prolly won't be able to upload them until tomorrow. And I can't wait until tomorrow -- I have several about to open that I've never seen before!!!
