Scotkat, I usually feed my heuch's 5-5-5 plus they get some mushroom soil and compost tea.

Now with them growing in containers, that probably wouldn't be enough. I'd use a 10-10-10 and do it at least monthly during the growing season. They would probably enjoy some fish emulsion too. i try to be an organic gardener, so i don't use hardly anything synthetic.

Another thing that I do when planting new plants is to always mix some Alfalfa meal and some kelp into the soil. This really gives the plants a boost in their first year. Afterwards, they get both of those things mixed in with my compost tea.

You live in a world of wonderful gardens, I'm sure that there are many good plant foods available over there. They might not have the same names as the ones sold here.

Your link is not working. Let's try this www.trowelslg.com

Scotkat Your Fire Chief looks wonderful! What great color! Thumbs up

Christine,That Plum Royal is really pretty. I'm not sure whether I have ever planted that one or not.

Your Georgia Peach is just another example of why that is my absolute favorite Heuch. I also love Mahogany, but I've never seen anyone post a photo of a really good sized one. Mine stay fairly small and sparse.

Your Carmel is, looking great!!

Thank you for the welcome. I was happy to find a place where there are others who like these plants as much as i do.I live in the northwest corner of New Jersey on the boarder of zone 5b & 6a.The soil in this area is slightly acidic which is good for these plants. Most of my heuchera are either at the front boarder of my shade garden or in the sun garden. They all get filtered morning sun and at least 4 hours of direct afternoon sun, all seem to like this except the light green ones. So far I have about 70 different cultivars of heuchera & I think 14 different heucherella.

Scotkat, your Fire Chief is great. Love the color. Thanks for the link to your website. You certainly have a variety of interests. Do you do lots of garden work for other people? Looks like you have a busy forum there too.

Nice bunch of heurchs Christine. Georgia Peach is one of my favorites too. Ginger Peach is an unusual color - pretty. Caramel goes through tons of color changes for me throughout the growing season. Sometimes gold and pink, sometimes more green like yours.

Beautiful Mahogany Bob! Sounds like you've got a great collection. I'm with Stormy - pictures, pictures, pictures! Hurray!

Nice Bob! Do you also have Lime Rickey? If so, I'm wondering how it does for you compared to Citronelle. I'm just not overly impressed with Lime Rickey, but your Citronelle is really nice.
