Yeah, I know! Some are already planted and some are still on the way. Whistling I actually only needed 2 more but 52 is still an addictive start.

Welcome to the world of hemaholics Cat! I like to think of it as a hobby and even though it can get expensive, we have inventive ways to add more daylilies to our gardens without breaking the bank.

Example #1: My daughter bought "Bodacious Charmer" last year and I don't have it. When I was looking at her daylilies yesterday, I told her that when she gets a bigger clump I would like a start of it. That's how I got Exotic Candy, Tuscawilla Tigress, and a few others!

Example #2: Getting others in the neighborhood hooked on daylilies is a good way to get free daylilies. I took my neighbor to a daylily farm and she bought some - then she and I traded a few.

Example #3: Several years ago some other ladies and I here in our small town got together and had a digging party. We went to each other's houses and all kinds of plants were dug and divided. They didn't know what the daylilies names were, so most of these are still NOID's in my garden, but I did get a couple of them identified because they had gotten them from the nearby daylily farm. It was a wonderful day.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of all your daylilies.

And yes I too have done the "plant it quick and hide the box" thing.
And the "inch out the bed and he won't notice" thing

Ps I stopped counting at 500

@blue23rose Those are some great ideas. A couple of the neighbor ladies have already stopped to ask what I have been planting. I am sure they will be back buy to see the blooms. Thumbs up They'll be hooked, that's about all it takes is looking at blooms, at least in my book. Big Grin That 50 is already creeping up anyway. Whistling

@Lilydaydreamer You have got to post some pics!! 500...WOW!!!! Hurray! Hurray!

Very Pretty!! I'm guessing in time I will be there!! Whistling I still have a hole lot that we just got about a year ago.

Thumb of 2014-05-18/Cat/ecf0cc
Still needs some clean up work but basically if you walked all the way back to that big dark tree from in front of the chain link fence that 40' wide is all our lot. Does that make any sense?? LOL It has nothing on it but grass and some small trees and wild honeysuckle. That pile to the left is going to get burnt. So I have Lots of Room!!
