Alright, so far this season I have discovered 4 iris that are now blooming but were NOT what I ordered. However this beauty is difficult to be angry about. I can't find a likeness anywhere including using the all plants search engine.

Any guesses on what this might be? It's gorgeous, no PBF, Midseason here at least 38" tall, peach standards, the dusty rim on the falls is a purple not brown as it first appears. bright orange beards.

I'd also be interested in other peoples perception's about wrongly shipped iris.

I don't know the iris, but contact the vendor & see what they say. If they know anything they will offer to replace them, if box store they don't know enough to do so.

Lucy is correct. If you bought it from an "iris farm", type vendor, they will probably know what it is, as it was likely a neighbor to the one you ordered, if you got it in a "trade", maybe the person you traded with will know, and if you bought at Wally-World.....you're just out of luck ! I've several more comments to make about "wrongs", but Rita says we're running late, so, later...Arlyn

Yes, I've been contacting them since I keep a list every year of where they come from. This one's a keeper for sure but it's not Hello Darkness. Maybe it's someone's seedling!

Well, I haven't seen it yet as mine hasn't bloomed yet, but you might check out Beach Dance.

Don't remember a rim on the fall petals -- at least, not a noticeable one. I'll go see if I have another picture.

Well -- I don't think I'll devote the time. The standards aren't the same color, and Beach Dance has a medium orange beard -- Susan's beard is almost red.

Susan This is mine. It is brighter when it first opens, then tends to fade to the lighter orange. Not too many other iris like it.

Received as Fair Flora...tentative ID, via HIPS, as Gypsy baron, vendor contacted.

There are 4 more ,that I've received as 'wrong" iris, also, but they are either being "cussed and dis-cussed" as to possible ID, or, already I.D.ed......And I still have 2 that are in bud, showing color, and appearing to be the WRONG color! So maybe tomorrow I'll have to add them!....Ifyou think you mat recognize any of these, give a shout, please....Thanks ...Arlyn

Pretty sure I have the *I Bless* one too -- need to think about it as well..............

I did not think it had enough yellow in the Falls to be Innocent Star. However, the "sloppy" standards are spot on.
