I've got a lot of re-bloomers that don't... but 'Grape Echo' seems to go off ever 6 or 7 weeks. Last year I had 4 bloom cycles. We seem to be off to a good start this year. Also has a nice sweet scent.

This is it and the second bloom wasn't as tall as the first.

I like the two tones on Grape Echo and the white beard on Rob's NoID.

Grape Echo is gorgeous. That's going on my list.

Nice NOID Rob. Does it have the pallida grape scent?

Grape Echo sounds like it's a continuous bloomer! Very nice! I wonder if it would do that here? My only reliable re-bloomer is Immortality. Sad

Mine is *Feedback*! I planted Immortality last year -- but didn't even get a spring bloom this year. Maybe it'll bloom in the fall?

As to Immortality...I've grown it for about 20 years, and it NEVER offered to re bloom ! I gave countless starts away...and they ALL re bloomed for the "donee's"...but mine, not a sighn..until last year..I guess it finally decided it was time! I have several "never fail" plants...Earl of Essex is one, and Eleanor Roosevelt (I think that's what Rob has, just going by the pic) always pur on a good show. I expect good things from Double Your Fun this year, as last year it outdid everything else in re bloom, starting the first of August, and going till freeze-up..I will expect a report from you, Tom, on both DYF, and EOE!...Arlyn

I have not had any rebloomers rebloom, but then if I was an iris I really wouldn't want to poke my buds out when it is 100 and humid in August!

Bountiful Harvest has always done well with reblooming for me. Immortality went wild last fall and then ignored the May bloom time! Eleanor Roosevelt also ignored spring bloom time. Maybe both of these will show up in the fall?

Leslie, I think my irises think like yours. Last summer was the first one in several years that three weeks out of August were not over 100 degrees..... and we reached 112 quite a few of those days.

I have some little guys in pots and I moved the pots out of the sun and watered them and three re-bloomed. One was Sun Doll
Thumb of 2014-06-18/grannysgarden/1ed5d2
It bloomed again in late November and I brought it in over several nights to protect the blooms from freezing.

And the other two were Trimmed Velvet an MDB and Smell the Roses a SDB
Thumb of 2014-06-18/grannysgarden/2a1935
These two bloomed so late I picked the blooms before the weather got them. Here are two in a little glass. Not good pictures of the last tow but it gives you an idea of their color. smiles

I have several SDB that are supposed to be rebloomers. Growing them in pots could work!

Bonnie, love your mini bottle tree!

Rob, 'Eleanor Roosevelt' and 'Crimson King' both re-bloom here, although Eleanor is a little better at it. Eleanor has a blue in the beard, and Crimson King doesn't.. Took me awhile to be able to tell the difference. Crimson King is a weed around here. I couldn't quite tell the beard color from your picture... but it looked a little blue... ??

As I was snapping off spent bloomstalks this morning, out of the desert of dry blooms rose a tall new stalk with many buds. The top one is starting to open! I have a couple rebloomers that bloom again later in the year, but I don't remember seeing any that rebloomed immediately. Any input?

What cultivar is it? I have an unusually late "spring stalk", now, and again, but there are some iris that can throw stalks anytime though out the growing season. If you haven't done so already, the Winterberry iris website has a ton of info on Re's. Well worth the time! http://winterberryirises.com/

At this time of year, my opinion is that it is a Very late "Spring stalk" rather than a re-bloomer. I have this issue with "Again & Again". It is such an increaser, that it seems to be re-blooming throughout the Summer; but this is not true. The stalks that bloom during the Summer are not from rhizomes that bloomed in the Spring. They are small increases from last year that did not have enough "umph" to bloom in the Spring and they grew enough during the Spring to start blooming now. My "Again & Again" clump will start putting out stalks around July 4th and do so sporatically through mid-August. After that, they tend to be true re-blooming stalks.

That could be the case with my 'Grape Echo' too... It is also a vigorous grower, and probably "spring stalks" too.. Whatever it's method of blooming every 6-7 weeks, I'll take it! Sounds like I need to get 'Again and Again' too. Big Grin
